However, in May 2017, a federal court struck down the FAA requirement, and today, personal-use drones need not be registered.
While operators no longer have to register their drones, the FAA still has numerous safety suggestions and rules. The administration advises limiting flights to 400 feet in altitude and maintaining a line of sight with the drone at all times. Even with advanced consumer drones, it is dangerous to lose radio contact. While most drones manufactured today have auto-descent programs that trigger when a signal is lost, there is no guarantee that the drone will land in a safe place.
The FAA also warns against flying near airports, manned aircraft, and emergency workers. Because of the danger posed by high-speed rotors, operators should also avoid flying over people, public venues, and sporting events, according to the administration.
In 2017, the FAA researched the risks of falling drones and found that they were not as dangerous as similarly weighted items. Despite this, the FAA still requires operators to secure approval before flying over populated areas. Before flying over people, operators should make certain their quadcopter has a blade guard installed. These guards limit exposure of quadcopter blades, and are essential to safely flying over people, the FAA reports.
The FAA is especially concerned about the dangers associated with flying drones near emergency workers. Commercial drones were detected flying near a southern California wildfire in 2015, leading officials to suspend their fire-fighting air missions twice in a single week. The large tankers and helicopters used by firefighters operate at low altitudes, comparable to those of consumer and commercial drones.
While a drone may seem insignificant next to one of these large aircraft, a mid-air collision could cause tremendous damage, according to the U.S. Forest Service. The FAA compares the danger posed by drones to that of birds, which although small can still damage a plane, particularly if they are sucked into a jet engine.

The X4 's micro size makes it pocket-portable for indoor flight virtually anywhere, yet its quad-rotor thrust makes it powerful enough to fly outside. Blue / Red LED lights built into the rugged body illuminate the way, and the included LiPo battery delivers plenty of power and recharges quickly. The Hubsan X4 comes ready to fly with 2.4GHz Transmitter and includes a full complement of tuning features and flying experience.
I've been flying two X220. which is the naze32 version of early batch and F3 version. This X220S has changed many things. I thought 220 size is a bit big for today's fashion but I found that X220S frame is shaped with no fat and it loos small compared to old X220. even in same factor size.

The flexible Vortex camera mount supports both a flight cam and an HD camera such as a GoPro or Mobius. The flight cam is protected from impacts and is suspended from a vibration-dampened carbon-fiber plate. An adjustable bracket allows the camera to be tilted to ensure a good forward view during high-speed racing. A 3A switching regulator allows any HD camera to be powered from the flight pack, allowing unnecessary camera batteries to be left at home.
Awesome whoop is your spectrum pilot. I got this over the regular inductrix because you can see the channels and bands on the back of the camera. Makes setting this much easier than the inductrix with the hood on it. It flies well out of the box but could use some tuning as the auto level mode is a little sloppy compared to the stock inductrix.
I strongly recommend this product and Holy Stone brand. We bought this Drone last month. Since this was our first drone, initially we spent quite some time understanding the basics. We also received detailed instructions on Do's and Don'ts. But while I was playing with it on a normal sunny day, I lost control of the drone and couldn't locate it.
Fun little brushless quad. It has all the modes, angle, horizon and acro. It is also very durable. I have run it into trees and hit the ground many times ( my wife told my son that I had mowed half the lawn with it on my first battery) and the only damage done was a bent prop. I was able to bend it back and it is still flying like new. I have been having a lot of fun learning to fly up with the 110. Buy some extra batteries, you're not going to want to stop flying this little quad.
